Follow Instinct

Where to place the tools?
How to speed up the processing?

The answer is: follow your instincts!

Follow this simple sequence and put
all things in a better place, more ergonomic and more "Lean".

1) I have to to do something (i.e. Open a bottle )

2) I need a tool (i.e. Opener)

3) Find the tool (Instinctively I look around)

4) If I do not find it in the following 3-4 seconds
I do not have arranged things so LEAN

5) I have to make sure I always have
"necessary tool" at your INSTINCT (3-4 seconds)

What does this sign?

Do you know what?

Definitely yes!

And not only know the meaning in your country,
but you know the meaning in many countries of Europe
and the world.

This example to understand that good
Communication is based on clear and shared symbols.

If everyone knows what that sign means or that line,
improves the visual communication and Management.

In summary: "When choosing a convention or a symbol,
Make it clear and shared. Must have the same effect
a road sign. "

Visual Managment Daily Example

In some areas, such as hotel accommodation, the
visual management is on the agenda.

In any hotel in the world you will find
messages that are shown in these photos
are understandable to all
(you and the hotel staff).

Take this "Vision" in your projects
of improvement. Understandable language
by all, quickly and effectively.

When you make a 5S, a TPM or Kaizen event,
do not forget "Communication"
indeed put him first.

Create an agreement that is the same
for the entire company.
Think about it a bit more, but do it well.

The list of the Lean Tools.

After you have studied Lean Manufacturing Theory
it could be useful to have a list of the tools
(and methods) you can use.

Can you fix a screw with an hammer?

In the same way it important to use
the proper Lean method (or tool)
to fix a particular source of waste.

How to control every activities?

Basically there is no time to control
all the activities in a company.

We found a way to give the idea that
everything is under control and push the
people to stay awake.

The solution is a software that help
you to control the activities in a random way.

If you strictly control what the software
suggest, people will recieve a control on
Monday? Wendsday? Friday?
Who knows?

Try it for a week.

Random Control Lean Software

You will find a difference!

The rule of 5!

A very simple rule that is possible to apply in
any field.

At first glance try to say how many
stars you can see in each row:

Row 1: * * *
Row 2: * *
Row 3: * * * *
Row 4: *
Row 5: * *
Row 6: * * * * *
Row 7: * * * * * * * * *
Row 8: * * * * * * *
Row 9: * * * * * * * * * *

From Row 1 to Row 6 we are sure you
were able to be quick!

Then from Row 7 you were forced to stop a little bit
and start to count. Is it true?

Try to organize warehouse, desktop, PC, Buffer and other stuff
with "The Rule of 5"!

The Rule of 5:
Over 5 elements (or group of elements) there
is no more Visual Management.
